Company Secretary Trainee

The Opportunity 

To support the Company Secretary in all aspects of statutory reporting for group subsidiaries, share schemes administration, AGM preparation and the provision of ad hoc support.

Role Responsibility

The Challenge

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Maintenance of statutory records, including registers of members, registers of directors’ interests, board minutes, etc.
  • Assist in the maintenance of subsidiaries in other jurisdictions.
  • Keeping up to date with developments in relevant legislation and regulations, and ensuring the organisation remains compliant.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of PLC website, and other internet platforms.
  • Assistance in maintaining the various company share option schemes.
  • Assistance with PLC year end requirements, including the report and accounts and Annual General Meeting.
  • Ensuring the Company remains up to date in respect of its Companies House filings and overseas equivalents.
  • Assistance with organising CSR activities, and assisting with the Group’s CSR Committee and communications
  • Assisting with the management of Trademarks registration and associated requirements.

  • Must have a flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • Must possess a high degree of common sense, tact, discretion and diplomacy
  • ICSA part qualified/qualified or Graduate in law, accountancy or business qualification
  • Setting up and maintaining electronic filing systems
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (inc. Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook)
