Role Responsibility

The Challenge

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

The site Engineering Technician is a technically skilled position responsible for planning preventative maintenance tasks across the site. As part of this planning, consideration must be given to staffing levels, changeovers, planned downtime, parts availability, tools and training to ensure the plans are attainable and executed. The employee will also aid in the development of the documented planned maintenance schedule and records.

The Engineer Technician is responsible for supporting operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and improving the reliability of all equipment. To provide essential preventative and reactive multi-skilled maintenance activities for the plant in a fast-paced GMP governed manufacturing environment.

About You

  • Delivery of a Planned maintenance program to ensure reliability of equipment and to improve asset performance.
  • Ensure minimal unscheduled downtime through fast and effective response to breakdowns, monitor the performance of the line post breakdown to ensure it is fully operational.
  • Facilitate the department Engineering RCA (root cause analysis) to stop any issues from re-occurring.
  • Continuous improvement of equipment, improving safety, efficiency, changeovers and minimizing downtime.
  • Experience of working within a regulated process environment ideally pharmaceutical, food or fine chemical
  • Interface with the engineering team members to ensure appropriate understanding of the equipment and PM.
  • Ensuring that the Operators has what is needed to accomplish the job and spare parts are ordered for the activity or replenished. 
  • Able to work with a production schedule and understand the maintenance tasks and the amount of time required as to not impact production outside of planned windows.
  • Must be able to identify, include and communicate with any stakeholders in the planning of maintenance tasks be it internal or external.
  • Must have an understanding of LOTO (lock out, tag out), work at height, electrical safety, confined space principles and other engineering/safety standards to keep maintenance employees safe and not plan unsafe acts or send untrained employees to a task they have not been trained to do.
  • Plus carrying out any reasonable request made by their line manager.
  • Create equipment works instructions to machine operating.
  • Create and review document related to Preventive Maintenance program, Packaging change over and manufacturing equipment setups.

  • Health and safety performance – accidents and lost time.
  • Inspection ready at all times
  • Adherence to equipment reliability improvement project plans
