The Opportunity
Assist Skipton Site EHS Manager in the implementation of new/amended Health & Safety Policies, Procedures and Standards to ensure effective deployment across site. Help to develop and continually improve site processes working alongside EHS Coordinator.
Role Responsibility
- Assist EHS & Facilities manager in rollout of Group Health & Safety Policies and Procedures at site level across all departments including COSHH, Engineering & Process Safety.
- Manage, maintain and develop site safety procedures and standards
- Develop & organise EHS documentation and processes in preparation for ISO14001 and ISO45001 certification
- Carry out regular safety training & maintain matrices across all departments
- Provide regular performance reports to EHS Manager to determine weekly/monthly progress on the annual safety strategy
- Work alongside health and safety reps to develop & coach departmental safety on site and enhance site safety culture.
- Assist in driving environmental improvement activities to reduce the sites environmental impact to air, water and land.
- Support in day to day H&S & Facilities activities where required.
The Ideal Candidate
- NEBOSH Cert / Diploma or Degree from an OHS Discipline
- ISO 14001 & 45001 Internal Auditor trained
- Positive, can do attitude
- Target driven
- Quality minded
- Ability to work under pressure
- Able to work cross-functionally
- Experience in carrying out risk assessments
- Thorough understanding of COSHH Regulations & Best practice
- Fundamental knowledge of UK H&S Legislation & HSE Regulations
- Practical experience in an operational environment required
Due to the nature of our business, all successful candidates must complete a basic DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service check) before employment can commence, and at regular intervals during employment. Dechra will pay for this check.
