**This role can be performed on a hybrid basis, with a mix of working from home combined with 1-2 days per week collaborating with the team in our office in Den Bosch **

The Opportunity 

Within Dechra Veterinary Products Europe (DVP EU) we are assessing and optimizing our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) processes and technologies in our ability to deliver accurate and relevant insight, quickly, to fit the business complexity and needs of today and tomorrow.

As we are building out the FP&A function, DVP EU has an opening for a highly motivated, tenacious, resourceful and data savvy finance professional as:  FP&A Analyst

Role Responsibility

The Challenge

The DVP EU FP&A team drives the divisional forecast, annual budgeting and strategic planning processes as well as delivering operating plan variance / gap analysis and assisting on ad-hoc / special projects. We exist to help the company make intelligent, data-driven decisions through financial analysis; scenario modelling; tracking, interpreting and disseminating key performance indicators; and by serving as a critical thought partner to senior leadership.

Our main challenge is to continue to provide sound financial planning and thoughtful analysis that supports strategic decision-making and tells the financial story of DVP EU whilst adapting to the fast–changing business conditions that come with unpredictable futures. Ahead of all that it is critical to get the basics right.

You will report directly into the FP&A Manager Europe and will work closely with the junior team member.

As our FP&A Analyst you will..

  • Prepare and synthesize the groundwork for monthly financial and business performance results reporting to senior management;
  • Support FP&A Manager in leading the DVP EU annual planning, re-forecasting and long-term strategic planning models;
  • Provide accurate, timely, and actionable financial reporting and key business metrics and dig into results to find insightful trends or anomalies;
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analyses and anecdote deep-dives that assist decision making by senior leadership;
  • Support FP&A Manager in leading / directing the FP&A Transformation to a future (desired) state:
    • Budget optimization (speed and relevance)
    • More efficient and agile planning, build resilience (leveraging S&OP / Demand Forecast)
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive collaboration and analyze cross-departmental data for a holistic picture
    • Maximize financial results with simulations and scenario management (WhatIf)
    • Optimally leverage data and technology (simplicity)
    • Integrated (forward looking) Reporting
    • Align FP&A actions with business strategy to drive performance;
    • To be the sparring partner for the FP&A Manager and build strong relationships and collaborate with business leaders to become a trusted advisor who highlights risks, spots opportunities, build simulations and sensitivity analysis;
    • Lead Ad-hoc reporting/research and identify best practices;
    • Help automate standard processes and reporting to reduce reporting burden and increase sophistication and capacity for analysis;
    • Influence others, insist on the highest standards, and challenge the status quo;
    • Special projects (potential)

The Ideal Candidate

About You

  • A higher education or Bachelor degree within the area of Finance
  • At least 5 years relevant working experience, preferably in an international environment
  • Proven first-hand experience of  S&OP / Demand Planning in combination with Financial Forecasting and Budgeting is preferred
  • Experience in developing an expert-level understanding of business drivers and translating these into complex financial models is a pre
  • Interest in clever solutions to crunch and manipulate large amounts of data and capable of presenting in a meaningful way
  • Strong affinity with BI
  • Moderate Accounting knowledge
  • Hyperion Essbase (or similar database systems) experience is a plus
  • Ability to structure and organize effectively and deliver to deadlines
  • Passion for process improvement and challenging the status quo
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Impressive attention to detail and accuracy while keeping the big picture
  • Inquisitive / Intellectual curiosity
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills, written and verbal
