The Opportunity 

Dechra is an international specialist veterinary pharmaceuticals products business. Our expertise is in the development, manufacture, and sales and marketing of high-quality products exclusively for veterinarians worldwide. 

As a member of the Dechra Group IT team the IT Technologist will report to the IT Manager, Europe and will work closely with Group IT colleagues across Dechra globally who are a team of skilled, experienced, dedicated and highly motivated colleagues, operating in an international work environment, to enhance, plan, design, implement, and maintain a broad spectrum of technology solutions in support of business objectives. 

The team that this role sits a part of has a primary responsibility for the ‘Europe’ region covering Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Spain, France and Italy. The team works together closely and are good supporters of each other and share knowledge. You will be a key member of the team. 

This role would be ideal for a first or second time mover.

 

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Responsible for maintaining and further developing Microsoft Active Directory, Azure and VMware.
  • Responsible for pro-actively keeping our servers and storage up and running at all times.
  • Responsible for infrastructure (LAN/WAN/WIFI) maintenance and continued development.
  • Responsible for providing support on the companies’ back-end systems (on a rota system as and when and if required).
  • Co-responsible for user support with a focus on information and data security.
  • Participate in tasks and projects that span the Dechra Group, across multiple countries.
  • Ensuring that all employees, customers and stakeholders receive a first-class level of service in relation to IT incidents and service requests.
  • Providing First and Second Line support for software and hardware fault resolution.
  • Deployment of new hardware and software assets based on the IT department standards.
  • Research and discover new technology solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend methods and tools for streamlining and improving the established IT -processes.
  • Ensure regional site documentation is accurate and up to date at all times.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining a wide variety of hardware and software

  • Experience working in an IT role supporting local and remote users

  • Experience with technical writing for IT procedures and network diagrams

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Fluent in English and Danish

  • Able to work independently and reliably in a dispersed geographic IT team with minimal supervision

  • Able to use Microsoft stack - O365, Active Directory, Group Policy, NTFS, WSUS, Server 2012- 2016, Windows 10, SCCM, Exchange 2016, Teams, InTune

  • Knowledge of Microsoft SurfacePro tablets, Lenovo desktops, HP servers, HP/Aruba switches, Cisco Meraki access points, access control systems, IP camera systems
