The Opportunity 

The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) drives the sale of Dechra products in partnership with the Dechra Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) to achieve Dechra’s shared sales goals. The ISR builds trusting relationships with new and existing customers in order to sell Dechra’s innovative product to companion animal veterinary clinics. The ISR works both independently, and closely with their respective TSMs to educate veterinarians and their clinic teams, as well as attend relevant local and regional conferences as needed.

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Selling directly to the Veterinary customer
  • Demonstrate proficient product knowledge on Dechra products and competitive products
  • Monitor sales activities: calls completed, number of clinics reached, number of orders, etc.
  • Use CRM data analytics to develop data drive sales strategies
  • Develop pre-call plans for each outbound call including a well-defined commitment objective
  • Maintain a sales process that supports getting to the decision maker, exploring needs and closing the sale
  • Maintain initiative by shifting priorities as needed, sharing best practices and having a sense of urgency.
  • Build deep relationships through interpersonal relationships with hospital staff members, doctors and distributor agents by listening to needs of the customer.
  • Maintain good reporting for expenses, bi-annual field activities and internal communications
  • Superior listening and communication skills
  • Occasional travel required

  • Minimum 1 year sales experience
  • Proficient with Salesforce and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to work with & learn new systems
  • Demonstrate strong analytical & organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Follow up and completion of tasks at hand
  • Self-motivated
  • Highly organized & detail oriented
  • Must be a flexible team player
  • Mandatory to have solid interpersonal skills and be adaptable
  • Familiar with data analysis, management, and manipulation techniques
  • High School Diploma/GED with equivalent level of experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
