The Opportunity 

Reporting into the Finance Business Partner PDRA, your role will focus on delivering key financial processes for PDRA (Product Development & Regulatory Affairs) including month-end closing, budgeting and forecasting and monthly management reporting.

You will be responsible for providing analysis and reporting for the annual and rolling budget updates as well as preparing monthly financial and business performance reports. This includes the preparation and timely submission of financial reports, financial analysis and commentary.

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

Perform month-end close activities and communicate financial results in a timely manner:

  • Prepare month-end results for project spend and OpEx to be included in Flash Update
  • With the support of the Project Management team, prepare the month-end project accruals
  • Prepare excel based management accounts for cost centre managers
  • Assist with monthly variance analysis, focusing on project costs
  • Support half year and year end reporting as necessary
  • Support the quarterly transfer pricing review and process

Play an active part in forecasting and budgeting cycles:

  • Support the delivery of the budget and forecast processes to meet both internal PDRA finance deadlines and group deadlines
  • Prepare budget/forecast templates (OpEx, CapEx, Project, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow) and facilitate their completion
  • Work with Project Management to ensure timely and materially accurate project budgets prepared

Work closely with business stakeholders providing analytical support and insight of financial performance through accurate, timely and relevant reporting:

  • Work with Project Managers and Project Leaders to understand variances to budget/forecast
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis for projects and draft commentary to include in Management Accounts
  • Manage internal reporting of project spend including load in to Group finance systems

Support the preparation of financial planning, presentations and financial analysis used for Senior Leadership review:

  • Support in strategic planning and analysis as needed
  • Provide support on a range of ad-hoc projects

Additional:

  • Responsible for personal health and safety and IT equipment
  • Responsible for completion of mandatory e-learning modules

The Ideal Candidate

  • Hold a relevant chartered accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar)

  • Experience in Oracle, other ERP systems e.g. SAP

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders internal and external to Dechra

  • Ability to work well in and across diverse global teams

  • Detail oriented, strong organizational and time management

  • Experience of Hyperion Planning and Management
