The Opportunity 

To take responsibility and leadership for the equipment used and ensure all aspects of use (production and cleaning) are carried out to a high standard, in line with associated documentation and GMP procedures.

Pack product to the highest quality standard and compliant to the set GMP guidelines and procedures.

To ensure all activities undertaken are within the set Health and Safety guidelines.

To assist in achieving the production planned on a daily basis.

To assist packing shift manager and give cover for short term absence.

To provide on the job training for the packing team. 

 

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Pack product to the highest quality standard, compliant to regulatory dossier and in accordance with current GMP guidelines and procedures.
  • Resolve short term issues to ensure production is efficiently completed.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Batch Manufacturing documents(BMR) and comply with their individual responsibilities to GMP
  • Attend and comply with any planned in house training or on the job training.
  • To ensure the efficient and safe use of plant and equipment.
  • Drive training on equipment where an expertise is demonstrated and providing a ‘mentor’ to new starters.
  • Carry out reconciliation of the batch documentation when a batch is completed on line.
  • Carry out the relevant oracle transactions for completed batches.
  • To keep strictly to Packing methods as laid down in the documentation and help solve any issues or errors with the Packing Shift Manager.
  • Maintain the highest standards of Housekeeping, Cleanliness and Personal hygiene within the department.
  • Leads investigations for deviations and continuous improvement projects through their specialist Packaging knowledge.
  • Assisting in updating and completion of GMP documentation such as SOP’s and BMR’s.
  • Person In Charge trained.
  • To notify the Packing Shift Manager as a matter of urgency, if there has been any serious failure of safety or GMP which could affect staff safety or product quality.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of low to medium volume manufacturing/packaging, manual/semi-automated manufacturing processes required
  • Proven industry experience from a highly regulated GMP manufacturing/packing facility, either from the Pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industry/environment is a benefit
  • Demonstrate previous knowledge & experience in setting up of equipment in readiness for production running ideally in relation to Pharmaceuticals
  • Demonstrate previous knowledge of fault finding and using root cause analysis processes
  • Strong administration skills with an understanding of the importance of paperwork and the accuracy
  • A working knowledge of  continuous improvement activities and ability to manage time and workload effectively is essential
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety compliance
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both peers and other members of staff from all areas of the business.
