Programme Manager – Strategy & Transformation Office

The Opportunity 

The Programme Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating projects within Dechra’s Manufacturing & Supply (DMS) Transformation Programme to help deliver our strategic goals whilst providing critical project management support in a complex global business environment. Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Transformation Office, they will support the planning, implementation, and execution of the Manufacturing & Supply Chain Transformation. Working closely with DMS Head of PMO, they will ensure the timely collection of project information enabling informed and expedient decision making for senior management. 

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Work closely with the Strategy and Transformation Director taking business requirements and gaps into solutions and actionable plans that achieve necessary outcomes at the right time. 

  • Oversee the planning, sequencing and project management DMS’ Transformation using established framework whose output is a clear, multi-year delivery road map adhering to Time, Cost, and Quality.  

  • Set up and lead the Transformation Project Management team, promote use project management best practices, ensuring the Project Managers effectively define goals, scope, and objectives, develop timelines and create detailed plans, identify and mitigate risks with contingency planning, then track and report progress and financial health of agreed projects to relevant stakeholders. 

  • Key member of Transformation governance group, overseeing the delivery for all DMS Transformation projects in alignment with the PMO function. 

  • With PMO, ensure delivery of relevant information required for decision making to management through portfolio dashboards. 

  • Support Workstream Leads with the transition of projects and workstreams into the core business or other operational frameworks by working closely with the DMS leadership team to minimise business disruption whilst maximising business value. 

  • Work with Finance and support the Strategy & Transformation Director on the management of a significant programme delivery budget including accurate financial forecasts as required. 

  • Establish and oversee the governance and delivery framework for all projects and workstreams and ensure that change management skills, processes and governance are in place and fit for purpose across the programme organisation in alignment with the PMO function Work with the Change Manger and Communications Specialist to ensure high-quality communications to the transformation team, DMS Leadership, and wider business to foster strong engagement and support and ultimately enable success. 

  • Coordinate Transformation KPIs across individual workstreams and ensure KPIs are aligned and measured in the same way. 

  • Ensure benefits tracking is in place and well evidenced to ensure optimal financial results. 

  • Ensure team members across the programme are aware of processes, tools, and templates.

  • Demonstrable experience in working across a complex and dynamic business, engaging business leaders to participate in the programmes and ultimately ensuring enrolement, buy-in and support of key stakeholders. 

  • Organisational acumen to achieve great results through others. 

  • Excellent communication / influencing skills and advanced stakeholder management including proven success in environments with multiple direct and indirect stakeholders. 

  • Excellent organizational and technical skills. 

  • Tenacious and results driven with sound business judgement. Passionate about achieving high levels of excellence.

  • Continuous improvement mindset. 

Desirable: 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince2 OR a recognised project qualification.  

  • International, cross functional experience.  

  • Experience in Pharmaceuticals.

Additional Details:

  • Some global travel may be required with this role.
