The Opportunity 

The Programme Manager will be responsible for successful planning, coordination, delivery and in-depth reporting of the DMS/QMS implementation programme working closely with the respective SME’s and business workstream leaders and providing regular progress updates to the steering committee and relevant stakeholders. This will require effective use of the tools and principles of organisational change management. Depending on phase of the programme and work load, other projects and programmes will be assigned.

Role Responsibility

The Challenge

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Plan assigned projects and programmes effectively ensuring that the appropriate participants, dependencies, budgets and timescales are identified and agreed.
  • Create and maintain adequate and detailed project plans for any assigned project and programme which account for every detail of each work stream required, as well as set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor and summarise progress of all programme activities along with identifying and controlling risk & issues with senior stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement communication and stakeholder management plans and guide SMEs and stream leads in communication excellence and change management principles.
  • Appropriately challenge and drive progress at all levels across all relevant functional areas in-house and with the system vendor.
  • Accountable for successful delivery of all assigned projects and programmes across key deliverables (including scope of work, timescales, quality and budgets), prior to hand-off to the business as usual environment
  • Oversees on-time achievement of all key milestones within the project plans
  • Maintains project communication across all business areas (internal and external). Produces high quality reports that provide accurate status updates and documents associated risks (threat / opportunity) of any project or change.
  • Completes post project reviews and includes lessons learnt exercises which identify both positive and negative outcomes to be actioned
  • Looking for opportunities for continuous improvement at Project Management and Portfolio Management Level
  • Provide additional project and portfolio management support as needed to ensure the continued timely delivery of Dechra’s pipeline of animal health products.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert in Organisational Change Management
  • Travel as needed (30%)

The Ideal Candidate

About You

Here at Dechra we pride ourselves on being an inclusive employer and we embrace candidates from all walks of life. We’re particularly keen to here from those who have/are:

  • Life science or engineering degree
  • Certification as Project Manager or /Program manager (PMI, APM or Prince2
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferable in R+D / Manufacturing and Regulatory
  • Proven experience with successfully managing cross functional change projects
  • At a minimum 5 years’ work experience in a Project or Programme Management role
  • Experience with MS project and project management methodology
  • Must be a team player with flexibility to get any task completed
  • Mandatory to have solid interpersonal skills and be adaptable
  • Excellent computer skills (O365/ Teams) and an ability to pick up new systems & software as required
  • Demonstrate strong analytical & organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Proficiency in English essential
