The Opportunity 

To maintain and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) within the Quality Control (QC) department at Dechra Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing, Skipton, UK. 

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Ensure the compliance of all activities performed within the department, by developing, maintaining and continuously improving systems to ensure all operations comply with the applicable regulations. 

  • Provide expertise with regards to the development of a QMS within a QC department. 

  • Author Risk Assessments on an ad-hoc basis for processes, procedures and systems to ensure risks are identified and appropriately managed, including mitigation via corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), where appropriate. 

  • Undertake Deviations, Change Controls, CAPAs, Telemetry reviews, Due Date Extension Requests and Effectiveness Reviews and support complex Laboratory Investigations (LIRs). 

  • Author and maintain Laboratory Specifications, Methods of Analysis and SOPs. 

  • Analyse and trend data, assess information and generate reports / metrics to provide accurate and appropriate responses and to identify potential risks / gaps. 

  • Keep abreast of and communicate changes to regulations which have the potential to impact the department. 

  • Perform periodic reviews of pharmacopeias and ensure timely implementation of identified changes. 

  • Proactively influence the QC management team regarding the adoption of ‘best practices’ to improve compliance and bring about efficiencies. 

  • Undertake self-inspection audits within the department. 

  • Support Internal and External audits. 

  • Support the QC Support Manager, as directed in the execution of their duties. 

  • Contribute to the development of the department and individuals through coaching and mentoring. 

  • Abide by and champion the company’s values (Dedication, Enjoyment, Courage, Honesty, Ambition) in all aspects of the role, including interaction with co-workers and third parties. 

The Ideal Candidate

Here at Dechra we pride ourselves on being an inclusive employer and we embrace candidates from all walks of life. We’re particularly keen to hear from those who have/are:

  • >3 years’ experience working within a compliance focused role, such as Quality Control or Quality Assurance in a pharmaceutical GMP environment. 

  • GMP regulations for products produced, tested and marketed within the UK, EU and US. 

  • Significant experience with compliance documentation management. 

  • Familiar with environmental, health & safety, regulatory and company standards. 

  • Computer literate, with an attention to detail (formatting) and clarity.
