The Opportunity 

The Supply Chain Manager will report to the Site Director and is part of the Site Leadership Team (SLT). This role will have overall responsibility for the Fort Worth, TX site supply chain, including control of planning, warehousing and customer services and will develop plans to ensure supply of required products in the most effective manner, in order to meet market demand and maintain high service level while taking into consideration inventory, quality, operational capacity and cost.

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Lead the Site supply chain team through implementing managerial practices to ensure the team’s high performance, modelling Dechra values and leadership framework.
  • Support the Global S&OP at the site level. Analyse net demand variations and capacity constraints by technology, including quality constraints affecting the service level. Discuss the outcomes with key stakeholders, define recovery plans, facilitate decision processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure that Supply Chain activities fully support Group DM&S Supply Chain and Fort Worth site strategies
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement to maximize overall efficiency whilst reducing waste
  • Accountable for the overall operation of the S&OP process and end to end site planning process to ensure full support of strategies and customer expectations are met
  • Ensure new products and product changes are planned accordingly to maintain service and launch dates, clearly identifying and escalating any issues that may impact Internal and external customer service from site, including order management and communication
  • Ensure all activities are carried out to appropriate regulatory standards including GDP and GMP and working with FDA to achieve expected compliance standards
  • Build strong and long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders and strong links with colleagues to create opportunities to influence key customers
  • Utilize ERP systems to create requisitions to ensure inbound stock meets the plan and maintain material control systems to ensure correct levels of stock
  • Plan the site’s raw materials requirements as well as managing site’s inventory level and targets
  • Integrate market demand, production and quality capabilities and cost to develop, in agreement with Regional/Global SC, the site MPS. Plan and monitor execution of the site MPS and ensure an optimal service level.
  • Plan, monitor execution, coordinate and communicate to the relevant interfaces the site’s launch preparations and site’s products changes and material changes based on global priorities. Track and implement artwork changes.
  • Ensure warehousing and logistics of incoming goods and finished products are handled in the most efficient manner; manage interfaces with Transport and Warehouse units.
  • Identify, develop and retain qualified Supply Chain professionals to provide high level service to the site.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant Industrial & Management Education: College Degree in Engineering/ Production/ Logistics/Management or any equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience working as a supply chain professional or in a similar role
  • Previous GMP experience highly desirable
  • Experience in supply and demand process management
  • Experience in inventory management and control
  • Experience working in a Supply Chain role supporting manufacturing
  • Ability to interpret forecast, trends and budget processes
  • Understanding of materials and production planning
  • Understanding of all steps involved in Supply Chain processes (including S&OP, AOP, MPS, ERP and MRP).
  • Knowledge in product and tech transfer
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and understanding of the pharmaceutical product lifecycle
  • Knowledge of cGMP, ICH EHS, and applicable local regulations
  • Working knowledge of project management tools and processes in a production, process-based environment
  • Experience with relevant planning software (e.g. SAP, Sage, Oracle, X3, MM)
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills.
  • Excel proficient
