Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Coordinate preparation of annual federal and state/provincial tax returns with external tax firm in US and Canada, year end provision work, workpaper preparation and return filings.
  • Coordinate preparation of quarterly/monthly federal calculations and estimated payments.
  • US and Canada transfer pricing compliance including calculating quarterly adjustments and maintaining/reviewing transfer pricing documentation and product model information.
  • Research and advise on Group Tax Strategy related to Manufacturing and R&D incentives, Transfer Pricing and Integration of Acquisitions.
  • Ensure alignment with Group Financial Tax Policies.
  • Attend regular meetings with the Group Tax Department and Central Tax Professional Team.
  • Mange withholding tax requirements for transactions with foreign sister companies and vendors.
  • Manage internal and external audits (sales tax, state, local and federal/provincial corporate tax).
  • Work with outside consultant to maintain annual Secretary of State filings.
  • Miscellaneous government filings (US Census informational filings).
  • Sales/use tax and Property Tax completion and filings.
  • Monthly GL account reconciliations.
  • Other Duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent communication aptitude and the ability to work well within a team setting including internal (Division and Group) and external customers (Tax Professionals).
  • Able to identify and communicate strengths/benefits and weaknesses/risks to drive alignment.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel using tables, pivot tables, and advanced functions.
  • Working knowledge of multiple ERPs, Oracle and QuickBooks preferred.
  • Ability to manage and review processes and identify improvements to develop best practices.
  • Capability to handle multiple projects.
  • The ability to exercise judgement in raising tax issues and completing tax filings.
  • A Certified Public Accountant or minimum of 4 year Accounting degree desired with a minimum of five years corporate tax experience.
