The Opportunity 

Active contribution to the discovery, development, registration and delivery of veterinary vaccines.

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Design and execute development of upstream/ downstream biological processes at small and large scale, including antigen production on various substrates, antigen purification and concentration, emulsion technology, freeze-drying and inactivation processes.
  • Independently plan, lead and optimize early to late stage development studies.
  • Analyse and interpret data effectively, draw conclusions, generate new hypotheses and present results.
  • Propose new experiments and technologies based on science overall, understanding vaccine development process.
  • Contribute to the development of conventional and novel veterinary vaccines (formulation development, stability testing, safety and efficacy testing).
  • Draft SOPs, change controls, deviations and risk analysis. Maintain proper records according to company policies and legal requirements.
  • Perform installation, qualification and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Perform upscale and facilitate technical transfer of new products to cGMP manufacturing area. Provide support in defining manufacturing processes, establishing in-process controls and developing process validation strategies.
  • Supports Qualification and Validation and Engineering personnel in startup, testing and operation of manufacturing process equipment.
  • Participate in process risk assessments, investigations, deviations, change controls and CAPA implementation in support of new product introduction.
  • Closely work with other team members to support departmental goals. Collaborate with Regulatory affairs department on preparation of the registration dossiers.
  • Independently applies basic scientific principles, performs literature searches, attends scientific meetings, and keeps abreast of literature in vaccines development field.
  • Participate effectively as a team member within vaccines development laboratory and project team.
  • Provide scientific and technical guidance to team members in own area of expertise.

The Ideal Candidate

  • University degree in veterinary medicine, pharmaceutics, biology, chemistry, biotechnology or related life sciences

  • Fluency in written and oral English.

  • Proficiency in computer program, data analysis software and technical writing skills.
  • Skilled with lab equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in process development, process upscale/downscale, transferring lab scale to pilot and commercial scale.
  • Broad understanding of overall process development and bioanalytical development activities.
  • Good understanding of scientific principles and research practices in the field of early biological process development.
  • Possess a strong understanding of critical process and operational parameters, understanding of acceptable ranges and interactions between different process parameters.
  • Experienced in data analysis, interpretation of results, troubleshooting and solving technical issues independently.
  • Work independently and able to support multiple projects simultaneously.
