Accounting Manager (m/f/x)

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • management of the Accounting department to achieve the business plans and goals of the company and the Group
  • organization of the work of the accounting department in accordance with applicable laws and internal regulations
  • encouraging workers to behave positively through their own examples
  • planning and setting individual goals for team members through cascading organizational goals
  • ensure strict and effective financial controls in accordance with the Group's policy
  • monitoring of International Accounting Standards and Croatian Financial Reporting Standards
  • monitoring of legal regulations in the field of accounting
  • proposing accounting policies compliant with IFRS and HSFI and - evaluating the application of different accounting policies to balance sheet positions
  • ensuring the application of defined accounting policies when compiling financial statements
  • defining and maintaining the chart of accounts
  • payroll control
  • monitoring and analyzing basic balance sheet positions - fixed assets, inventories, short-term and long-term receivables and liabilities
  • coordination of the activity of closing postings in SAP at the monthly level and at the level of the business year
  • organization, preparation and control of all necessary financial and tax reports, external and internal
  • cooperation with representatives of state institutions, especially with the Tax Administration
  • cooperation with authorized auditors when performing audit tasks
  • organization, preparation and control of the preparation of the audit report
  • activities related to Oracle, Hyperion, HFM and coordination of the mentioned activities within the department
  • preparation, coordination and reporting of Group finances related to income tax of Genera Group
  • managing the process of implementing new projects within the Accounting department and scope of work
  • continuous acquisition of professional and general knowledge from the scope of work
  • performing other tasks within the framework of professional knowledge by order of superiors, which are in accordance with the nature and type of work for which the employment relationship was established

What we’re looking for:

  • university degree in economics
  • a minimum of 3 years of experience in finance
  • solid experience in accounting or related roles – previous management experience is a plus, but not required!
  • proficiency in using computers, with a particular emphasis on SAP (FI module)
  • a good understanding of legal regulations in accounting
  • active knowledge of the English language
  • excellent communication and presentation skills
  • a passion for learning and growing within a dynamic environment
  • a knack for organizing work efficiently
  • a hands-on approach – you’ll be involved in both operational tasks and strategic planning
  • a candidate who is both a functional and cultural fit
