Calibration Technician, Lead

The Opportunity 

Perform the calibration of equipment and instrumentation assets to ensure that they are functional and in compliance with cGMP requirements. 

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Perform assigned maintenance and calibration of equipment and instrumentation assets timely, professionally, and according to cGMP.   

  • Ensure minimal unscheduled downtime through fast and effective response to instrumentation issues, monitor the performance of the line post breakdown to ensure it is fully operational.  

  • Support Engineering RCA (root cause analysis) to prevent issues from re-occurring.    

  • Supervision of vendor representatives, contractors and service providers assisting in delivery of calibration services.  

  • Communicate and document all troubleshooting/repair activities following the current procedures.   

  • Submit written reports for the calibration and/or repair work performed.   

  • Perform actions related to the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as required.  

  • Support engineering quality event investigations.  

  • Compliance with site Standard Operating Procedures and applicable regulatory requirements, and that tasks are performed in accordance with cGMP, EHS, loss prevention Company processes.  

  • Assist with other site engineering and maintenance activities as assigned. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in engineering, computer science, or closely related discipline desirable.
  • Minimum 3 years prior experience in maintenance and/or calibration activities.   

  • Knowledge of calibration of temperature sensors, pressure gauges, differential pressure transducers and industrial scales.

  • Previous experience working in pharmaceutical, medical industry, or other regulated environment desirable.

  •  Technical writing ability to document cGMP changes, investigations, etc.

  • Effective analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.  

  • Compliance mindset with a working knowledge of applicable Quality and EHS regulations.  

  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Project.  

  • Proficient/fluent in English. Fully bilingual English/Spanish desirable.  

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
