The Opportunity 

This position provides technical support to the manufacturing plant with general facility and utility related expertise for specific concentrated areas such as Purified Water systems, Chillers, Boilers, Compressed air, low voltage electrical equipment and HVAC systems. The position will perform all tasks necessary to operate, troubleshoot, service, adjust, repair and maintain facilities equipment and utilities supporting manufacturing processes.

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

• Perform equipment set-up, start-up, troubleshooting, and repair on mechanical, electrical and facility equipment.
• Responsible for providing advanced engineering, design, construction of manufacturing facilities, systems and equipment.
• Operate, maintain, and shutdown a wide variety of plant utility equipment per procedures.
• Follow environmental health and safety procedures during start-up, shutdown, trouble shooting, and operation of equipment.
• Perform set up, adjustment, troubleshooting and repair on a broad range of plant facility and utility equipment to operate efficiently, reliably, and within compliance standards.
• Read, interpret and maintain equipment diagrams in support of equipment repair and design.
• Accountable to communicate and coordinate with customers and stakeholders regarding schedule and impact of work being performed.
• Adjust equipment to optimize performance. Troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime. Propose long term improvements and implement these.
• Disassemble equipment to facilitate cleaning and ensure clean equipment/workspace at task completion.
• Maintain 5S status of facility maintenance areas.
• Responsible to perform preventive maintenances (PM’s).
• Coordinate site calibrators
• Hang Sheetrock, Paint interior walls and repair/ replace interior and exterior lighting

The Ideal Candidate

• High school diploma/secondary education or equivalent and/or technical certification or related trade.

• Experience in a technical role (Facilities/ Utilities/ Technical Support at a manufacturing / packaging or Quality) within the pharmaceutical industry. 

• Experience as a journeyman pipefitter, plumber, electrician, stationary engineer or HVAC/Refrigeration is preferred. 

• Prior experience working in a Pharmaceutical/GMP manufacturing environment and demonstrated experience working with and on HVAC systems is preferred.
