Maintenance Mechanic

The Opportunity 

Execution of preventative and corrective maintenance of the Company’s production equipment assets to achieve targeted reliability, equipment OEE, and ensuring compliance with cGMP requirements.   

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Delivery of the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Program to ensure reliability of equipment and to improve asset performance. 

  • Partner with Production/QA to execute work orders, ensuring timely completion of work orders giving accurate and valuable detail for asset history following the functional failure.  

  • Ensure minimal unscheduled downtime through fast and effective response to breakdowns, monitor the performance of the line post breakdown to ensure it is fully operational. 

  • Support Engineering RCA (root cause analysis) to prevent issues from re-occurring.  

  • Continuous improvement of equipment, improving safety, efficiency, change overs and minimising downtime.  

  • Supervision of vendor representatives, contractors and service providers assisting in delivery of equipment maintenance services. 

  • Communicate and document all troubleshooting/repair activities following the current procedures.  

  • Submit written reports for the maintenance and/or equipment repair work performed.  

  • Perform actions related to the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as required. 

  • Support engineering quality event investigations.  

  • Compliance with site Standard Operating Procedures and applicable regulatory requirements, and that tasks are performed in accordance with cGMP, EHS, loss prevention Company processes. 

  • Assist with other site engineering and maintenance activities as assigned. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in engineering or closely related discipline desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior equipment maintenance and troubleshooting experience.  
  • Practical knowledge of pharmaceutical technology, equipment, and application of engineering principles. 
  • Technical writing ability to document cGMP changes, investigations, etc. desirable.
  • Application of problem-solving with a proven record of resolving issues at their root cause. 

  • Compliance mindset with a working knowledge of applicable Quality and EHS regulations. 

  • Computer literate with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and CMMS systems. 

  • Proficient/fluent in English. Fully bilingual English/Spanish desirable.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; with ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
