Senior Director, Global Operations - Regulatory Affairs

The Senior Director – Global Operations is responsible for contributing to, and delivery of, the vision and mission for the Global Regulatory Affairs Operations function. They will represent the department across the organisation on various impactful programmes and projects that support Dechra’s corporate vision, mission, and values. The scope of the responsibilities covers global artwork, various support activities for submissions, invoice coordination, RA/PV ‑ specific systems ownership and government affairs, plus contribution to, and delivery of transformational initiatives.

Role Responsibility

  • Lead and develop high performing teams across the areas of responsibility.
  • Coordinate and oversee cross-functional projects for achieving operational goals.
  • Assess impact on effective processes and develop mutually agreed optimised processes and drive key cross functional initiatives and business improvements.
  • Partner with and/or lead a team of key RA stakeholders (i.e., Business Transformation,) to integrate RA initiatives and goals.
  • Support department personnel development initiatives including talent planning and performance management, in partnership with RA key stakeholders, DPMS and HR function to ensure a global and consistent approach.
  • Provide oversight for the implementation of systems, tools, and processes to ensure timely support and prioritisation.
  • Manage KPI review with global and regional leadership. Identify challenges, opportunities and risks, and drive solutions accordingly.
  • Leads budgeting and forecasting activities for the Global Regulatory Operations function and external consultant budgets.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in regulatory affairs within a global pharmaceutical role, ideally in animal health.
  • Proven global operational regulatory affairs experience.
  • Over 5 years of experience in people management.
  • University degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in veterinary medicine, pharmacy, biochemistry, or a related life science field.
  • Experience in organizational change management.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proficiency in English
