The Opportunity 

The senior production supervisor is accountable for the success and oversight of the manufacturing processes. This means being responsible for carrying out various functions related to overseeing routine production activities, troubleshooting, and solving issues that arise on a production floor and ensuring a safe and clean production workspace. 

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Provides daily supervision on the floor to personnel in efficiently using equipment and materials to produce quality products under cGMP per the production plan.
  • Provides coaching, counseling, development, discipline, and recognition of direct staff, including performing annual performance reviews.
  • Responsible for maintaining alignment with department direction, goals, and objectives.
  • Promotes safe work practices during all production and ensures all external and company policies and EHS standards are met daily.
  • Responsible for training personnel on equipment, processes, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Trains and develops personnel, develops, and maintains packaging schedules, and manages regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures that projects are completed on schedule per established procedures.
  • Participate in the execution of qualification and validation activities.
  • Participate in the process-related investigation(s) and promptly implement CAPA derived from the investigation outcome.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding organizational abilities with attention to detail. Adept at balancing multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while consistently meeting all-time deadlines and quality requirements.
  • Ensures that production processes are in line with company and regulatory requirements and
  • They are accurately completing all necessary documentation for regulatory compliance. 
  • Communicates expectations to production team members and evaluates their performance and ensures all resources and assets are used efficiently and correctly.

The Ideal Candidate

  • At least 3 years of experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing is preferred. 
  • Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP). 
  • Ability to follow and understand production records and procedures and to work as part of a collaborative team environment. 
  • Technical writing experience to include: writing SOPs, deviation reports, impact assessments, CAPA, and Change Control as well as reviewing batch records, logbooks and other documentation to ensure strict compliance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
  • Comprehensive familiarity with aseptic practices. 
  • Ability to use essential computer software and use interference in computer equipment. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Ability to manually assemble and disassemble production equipment associated with production operations.
